Little Butt deserves a real bed

I have been watching my sweet girl slow down for so many years and it’s just been heartbreaking. When you get your first puppy, you know it’s gonna grow up so fast! But you can’t really imagine what it’s like to watch that tiny puppy grow old. Until it happens, and then it hits you every day. And if you’re not a young pup yourself, you can actually understand your dog’s pain. When it comes to aging large breed dogs, the pain is very real. Making them comfortable is all we’re really after at some point. That’s why having a real bed to support their weight is key. Have you tried to find a big dog bed that can actually do that?

There are lots of orthopedic and memory foam dog beds out there but if you try sleeping on them yourself, your joints will poke right through and hit the floor. One big dog can easily “sleep through” several such dog beds in its lifetime because they will flatten over time. I read the story behind the beds, fell in love with Hank, and nonchalantly mentioned the discovery to my dear husband. I don’t think he had any feelings for Hank but he loves Little Butt to pieces so he did some thorough research and announced: Little Butt deserves a real big dog bed! Yay! I was ecstatic and told LB right away. She said: Ya, I know. What can I say, she’s super chill like that.

A real big dog bed

I ordered the new bed immediately and was pleasantly surprised by the ease and speed of the whole process. I was even offered a temporary discount on an additional item for my order, but we really only needed one big dog bed so I didn’t use it. My order was shipped promptly and delivered in 2 days. At first, when I saw the height of it (7 inches), I was a bit worried. Little Butt’s hind legs are really wobbly – after all, they have thousands of miles in them by now. And it did take her a few days to figure out how to scramble up from a lying position. But she seems to like it very much now.

We’ve had the bed for less than a month so I can’t really speak to the durability of the materials yet. So far, there are no tears or any other marks on the cover. I have tried the bed myself and it definitely feels like a real human mattress. Although we considered buying the Headrest Edition, we decided against it because LB tends to sleep with her head (and sometimes the top part of her body) hanging off the edge. So we got the Sleek Edition in Large and it’s a perfect fit for this superstar.
